Nighttime reading
So Nick has his weird bathroom reading list.
I would like to ask what is on your night stand next to your bed? Do you read a few minutes before going to bed? If so what do you have?
For me books next to my bed tend to come and go. Right now I have Gary Burge's The Anointed Community: The Holy Spirit in the Johannine Tradition (Eerdmans, 1987).

There's nothing weird about reading in the bathroom. Quite frankly, I'm concerned for all of you who don't!
I have a bookcase next to my bed so there's a lot on it (none of which I read before bed). But as of late it's been Bultmann's Primitive Christianity in Its Contemporary Setting and Dan Lioy's Jesus as Torah in John 1-12.
I try not to read too close to bed time because it makes me too wired and I can't go to sleep. I can't stop thinking about what I read and will be up for hours.
I try to stop reading early enough to get things out of my mind, and I have to have the TV on to fall asleep. Generally I read between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. in the living room, but not right before I fall asleep.
I am one of those people who reacts backwards to stimuli. NyQuil wakes me up and watching TV puts me to sleep.

thanks for the comments - some people read before going to bed or a least some time before going to bed - but depending on what I am reading I am not too much different from Yavette - I get too fired up and start thinking about stuff and sleep is fleeting. Thanks again for the comments.
